Terms of Use

1. Service

Halal Scan helps users analyze food photos, packaged products, barcodes, ingredient labels, pasted ingredient lists, and related scan information to receive an estimated halal, haram, doubtful, or unknown result with confidence, evidence, warnings, data sources, translations, history, and AI chat follow-ups.

Results are informational and based on available evidence. Halal Scan does not provide official halal certification, religious rulings, medical advice, allergy advice, legal advice, product guarantees, or food-safety determinations.

2. No Official or Decisive Result

Halal Scan is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as any halal certification body, religious authority, manufacturer, store, restaurant, or government agency. The app's output is an estimate, not a certification or final ruling.

You are responsible for deciding whether to rely on a result. For important or uncertain situations, verify the product label, contact the seller or manufacturer, ask about preparation methods, and consult trusted certifiers or qualified religious authorities.

3. Data and Security

We do not create a user account for you.

We store uploaded or taken images, barcode values, ingredient text, AI analysis results, saved scan history, and chat messages in order to make them available across sessions and to power the AI chat experience.

Some app versions may not yet include every deletion or privacy control. Where deletion controls are available in the app, deleted data is removed from our active systems. You may contact us for support with privacy or deletion requests.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to upload, share, or generate any content that is:

• NSFW or sexually explicit
• Violent, abusive, or harassing
• Illegal or promotes illegal activity, including copyrighted material you do not own, child exploitation material, or hate speech

We reserve the right to monitor uploaded content and permanently suspend access for violations of these rules.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Halal Scan may offer limited free checks and paid Premium access for additional scans, paste checks, history, and AI chat follow-ups.

Prices, trials, features, and subscription options are displayed in the app paywall or store purchase sheet and may vary by region. Subscriptions are auto-renewable unless canceled according to Apple App Store or Google Play rules.

You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. We do not store or have access to your payment details.

6. Consumption Data and Refund Processing

By using Halal Scan and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing of data regarding your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple, as part of our efforts to resolve refund requests.

This data may include your subscription status, account tenure, and delivery status of purchased content. This information is shared solely to assist Apple in evaluating refund requests and is handled in accordance with Apple's privacy policies.

7. Intellectual Property

Halal Scan and its content, excluding user-uploaded photos, user-provided ingredient text, and user-generated chats, are owned by the developer. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the app.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Halal Scan is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, nor do we guarantee the accuracy, completeness, freshness, religious correctness, certification status, or suitability of any result. Food checks can be affected by incomplete barcode databases, stale product records, hidden ingredients, ambiguous additives, source uncertainty, translation errors, poor image quality, cropped labels, restaurant preparation methods, cross-contamination, and AI limitations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Halal Scan and the developer are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions or actions you take related to purchases, eating, religious observance, health, allergies, food safety, travel, restaurants, or commercial use.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may terminate at any time by deleting available data in settings or uninstalling the app.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland.
